LMFAO

I have to just post a few lines, before bed, about how funny the new series of Green Wing is.

I don't often genuinely LOL, but this evening I really did LMFAO.

I think this series is even better than the last one.

One high point was the consultant radiographer actually eating the gall bladder of a patient in surgery. Unbelievably disgusting, eeewwwwwww, unfeasible, outrageous, just the right side of almost-believable, bloody hilarious.
Probably doesn't sound funny at all if you haven't seen it,
but in context and in relation to the characters it really really was.
I did have my hands over my mouth aghast, but it just slayed me.

Also the personnel manager finally getting the glasses she clearly needs
and freaking out at the for-once-crystal-clear sight of her own hands and eyes.
"Chicken feet, arrgh - my eyes, my eyes, my old old eyes, chicken feet!!!"

And finally, a top quote from tonight's episode:
"You really are are nicer than you seem."

If you haven't seen it and have the opportunity to - WATCH IT!

Bye for now. I will be trying to sort out my template tomorrow,
as my sidebar keeps slipping and it looks completely out of whack on
internet explorer.

Yes, Sweetie, Green Wing was hilarious tonight. Love it, love it.

I didn't answer your question about my course. It's for work - it will finish in November, so I've only got the next few months of reading lots of really dry material, visiting places and writing up reports. And writing loads of essays - all in my spare time - this is why I'm finding it hard to blog regularly - and it won't lead to a pay rise - so WTF? Sadly for me, I'm a perfectionist and damn lazy - not a good combintation.
Ho hum - happy days :o}

Yes,the gall bladder thing actually turned my stomach! He gagged so well! But it was hilarious! The bitwhen they were painting the wall together too wasfunny. 'you nib, nub, nob, winker!'
I watched 'MyName Is Earl'too -that's quitefunny too. (My space bar is sticking!)

I adore British humour - it beats American hands down. Unfortunately I grew up in a country that didn't get British programmes because of apartheid..and the Equity ban - so was awash in US humour....now though, I pig out on British laughs whenever I can. I must try and get Sky so I can also watch that stuff. French TV sucks.

It was hlarious, Green Wing is the only TV programme I look forward to all week. I laughed out loud to the bit where he ended up in the birth pool and then said, 'don't worry I'm not your baby'! The whole show is mad mad mad, I love it!

OOOOOH, they've opened a little cake shop down that little alley way leading to the market in Greenwich, which sells little green and pink chocolate buttons, those fancy little cup-cakes and some fantastic cakes in the window. Go and take a look!

I'd be glad of feedback from anyone using Internet Explorer - my sidebar slides to the bottom in IE, it seems, while its fine in Firefox/Safari (which I use). I don't at the moment have a sufficiently up to date version of IE, so can't see what you are seeing.....

ptb

wendy said...

I came to see if you've fixed the problem and its still slipping down to the bottom - I use IE...as you say...PTB..I really can't see why - it's probably staring me in the face...but I am not an expert so ...sorry..

wendy said...

btw - your sidebar width is too wide...try it at 220px and leave the other settings as they are. The sidebar is at the bottom but in the centre now.

Donna said...

You're looking good to me honey but then I use Safari or Firefox (mac user)!

Donna said...

Woah just viewing you through IE, totally different! How weird is that?

grumpy old woman said...

Hi Sweetie

Yes, you got the quiz right - well done you!

~(:o})=

wendy said...

I see you changed your sidebar width and now the sidebar is back at the side...but still at the bottom..

I saw some code: ....div class="box"div class="box2"div class="box3"

in your sidebar under the weather pixie HTML...is that part of the pixie html?

wendy said...

I just saw that Luce also has that'box' code and it's part of her lily and agathe picture..why don't you take it out and see what happens?

sorry - I am going on about this but it's bugging me that we ccan't get to the bottom of it.

Molly Bloom said...

It seems that Wendy is on the case. She really is a clever one. I was looking at your blog in comparision to mine and your posts do seem to be wider than mine. I wonder if that is what is making it slip. Then again, Wendy knows more about these things than I do.

I hope you are having a great Sunday. Wasn't it fantastic yesterday in the sun....but sadly...it's raining again now...

wendy said...

I'm not a 'clever one' - if I was I'd have said "Oh it's this, that ot the other"..but I'm stuck...clueless...except for that div box code I can't see anything that shouldn't be there. My content width is 750px, the main width is 475px and my sidebar is 200px - we use the same Minima template. *sigh* html is a bitch I think.

We have our 6th day of sunshine..but it is a bit windy - great for all my washing flapping on the line though.

euro-trac said...

Crikey! I don't know what any of you are talking about! :o)

But I have an important question for you lettuce!

It could be my imagination (or jealousy perhaps? hehehe) But is Billie Piper playing the role of Rose completely differently than in the last series? Either that, or the role has been written differently..

She's beginning to wind me up and I barely noticed her in the last series!

See you tomorrow! New Cafe - 11am!

Yiddish? I'll have to learn some. Actually I'm sure someone told me that the word "faggot" as applied to men of a certain sexual disposition, is from the yiddish word for bird or something. I can't remember the word though but I suppose it must sound something like faggot.

Tena Lady? They are advertised on TV. I am pleased to say that despite having had twins I have not yet had to purchase any. Maybe one day though.

Did you have a good time with RW?

Green-Eyed Lady(GEL) said...

Lettuce,
I love comedy so I'll check this show out! Thx.
(Le chat: I can help: Faggot is not derived from any Yiddish word; however, the Yiddish word you are wondering about for little bird is "fagaleh." We didn't use it growing up because of the derogatory sound. I don't know if there is now a modern word for homeosexuals in Yiddish that is not deraogatory because many who know Yiddish accept homosexuality as a person's choice.

Lettuce, I don't know what pixel width to tell you to help with your side bar, but the same thing happened to me. The way I fixed it is like others have said here. The width of your comment box is too wide.

However, the easiest way for me, who also has this same basic template, was to adjust the length of the sentences on my comments.
That meant that I shortened how far to the right (inside) the sentences flowed. So, I went back to my "edit the posts" page and narrowed the block look of my comments. Ex. I think the length of this sentence of yours extends to far to the right of your layout:

"I did have my hands over my mouth aghast, but it just slayed me."

Try adjusting it using your editor so that you break up that sentence into two lines.

Also, check where you posted photos and change the text to be left justified under your photos, not to the right of the photo.

I needed to do that for several posts where my comment box had "pushed over the sidebar, making it push over so much to the right, that it dropped to the bottom like yours.

There is an easier way than this with html, but I'm not able to explain it. If you try this on a set of posts that are on "one page" of your blog, you can see if the side bar stops slipping.

IF so, then you'll need to go back to other pages and do the above.
I hope this helps! (I used a combination of adjusting the width of my comment box and the text within it. I'm sure there is an easier way, but I'm an artist, so I just "see" how and what to do. I can't go into your code, or I could tell you more precisily what to do. Good luck!

GEL said...

Hi Lettuce,
I just checked my code for both of my blogs:
Content Width: 660 px
Main Width: 410 px
Sidebar Width 220 px

I use Internet Explorer.
However, the set content widths *alone* will not correct the slippage of your side bar. You need to adjust the content width that you actually typed in your post and the photo placment by physically moving text to the left and/or photos more to the left. This is because the text you typed for your post and/or the photos overrode the html "preset settings" and "said to the sidebar: Hey girl: now I have to shove you down lower to make room for this w i d e post. :) .

I know it's a pain to adjust, but doing what I said above worked for me. My "Good Vibrations" blog is a touch more squished visually than I'd like, but it's over year old so I quickly fixed it.

This other blog of mine is using the same settings, also with minima basic template that I changed the code for and it looks even more pleasing. (It's a later blog so the posts were typed with the above constraints in mind. Same goes for my artwork that I posted.) You can take a look here at that blog:

I told you that your posts were too wide. That's what it is. They put it so eloquently don't they? I don't get all this html mallarkey. I really don't.

Can anybody post anything today? I really wanted to put up something for Le Chat today and I can't post anything. Bloody blogging bloggy blogger. It's pants sometimes. I hope you can make your sidebar come back up.

The French gourmet cheese Bleu d'Auvergne has a wonderful aroma, a rich taste; the saltiness increases with the incidence of veining. The overall flavor is piquant but not overly sharp. Bleu d'Auvergne started life as an imitation of Roquefort, using cow's milk in place of sheep's milk. Legend has it that a peasant, around 1845, decided to inject his cheese with a blue mold that he found growing on his left-over bread (the motto being, waste not, want not). And thus, the gourmet cheese Bleu d'Auvergne was born. This French gourmet blue cheese comes from the region of Auvergne and the cheese is made from milk of Salers and Aubrac cows. The rind is very thin and so the cheese is usually wrapped in foil. The cheese is rich and creamy with a pale yellow color and scattered holes and well-defined greenish-blue veining. We cut and wrap this cheese in wedge of 8 ounces and 1 pound.

Once upon a time air travel was a great deal simpler than it is today. You called one of a few airlines that flew from your airport, the agent would tell you what flights were available for a given time, and you booked the one you wanted. Airports were always bustling places, especially during the holidays, but as long as you gave yourself adequate time, the process was usually the same. You would check your bags, go through the x-ray machine, get your boarding pass, and wait patiently at the appropriate gate. Once you got on the plane you ate the snack or meal that came with your flight and watched a movie.

In recent years travel by plane has become significantly more complicated. There are so many different configurations for flights and types of fares. Dire economic circumstances have caused airlines to raise rates and charge extra fees for everything from baggage to blankets. There are complex rules about what you can and cannot carry in your luggage. It can be very difficult to determine whether you are getting the best deal or the best services when you buy an airline ticket. The internet makes the navigation of airlines, airports, and flight itineraries easier, but, even so, be prepared to do some research if you want to find a flight at the best price.

Here is something up front that might save you time and money right off the bat. If you are traveling within the United States mainland, always look at Southwest Airlines first. Southwest is almost always the best deal you will find. However, Southwest itineraries do not appear on the major travel websites, so always go directly to the airline's website for information. Plug in your travel plans, and you will get a list of all the flights that are available. Southwest typically charges more reasonable prices than other airlines, and there are no hidden fees. The price you see is the price you get although tax and the government fee that is attached to all flights does apply. For lower prices than you can probably get anywhere else look at the "web only" fares, but keep in mind that these fares are not refundable.

In 1959 phentermine first received approval from the FDA as an appetite suppressing drug. Phentermine hydrochloride then became available in the early 1970s. It was previously sold as Fastin from King Pharmaceuticals for SmithKline Beecham, however in 1998 it was removed from the market. Medeva Pharmaceuticals sells the name brand of phentermine called Ionamin and Gate Pharmaceuticals sells it as Adipex-P. Phentermine is also currently sold as a generic. Since the drug was approved in 1959 there have been almost no clinical studies performed. The most recent study was in 1990 which combined phentermine with fenfluramine or dexfenfluramine and became known as Fen-Phen.[citation needed]
In 1997 after 24 cases of heart valve disease in Fen-Phen users, fenfluramine and dexfenfluramine were voluntarily taken off the market at the request of the FDA. Studies later proved that nearly 30% of people taking fenfluramine or dexfenfluramine had abnormal valve findings. The FDA did not ask manufacturers to remove phentermine from the market.
buy phentermine online Phentermine is still available by itself in most countries, including the U.S. However, because it is similar to amphetamines, it is classified as a controlled substance in many countries (including Australia). Internationally, phentermine is a schedule IV drug under the Convention on Psychotropic Substances.[1] In the United States, it is classified as a Schedule IV controlled substance under the Controlled Substances Act.
Looking forward, Phentermine is being studied with another medication for obesity. The experimental appetite suppressant drug Qnexa is a mixture of Phentermine and Topiramate.
Phentermine, in doses clinically used, works on the hypothalamus portion of the brain to release norepinephrine, a neurotransmitter or chemical messenger that signals a fight-or-flight response, reducing hunger. Phentermine works outside the brain as well to release epinephrine or adrenaline causing fat cells to break down stored fat, but the principal basis of efficacy is hunger-reduction. At high doses, phentermine releases serotonin and dopamine as well, but such doses are never used in clinical medicine.

If you are a novice gambler you probably haven’t heard the term but professional bettors who earn their livelihood from sports betting use the method all the time taking advantage of the variance in odds from the opinions of the diverse number of bookmakers. Even though it sounds as if it is a no risk situation that may not always be the case and there some issues that can cause you to lose.

Any one who bets on sports for profit will want to make sure they are getting the best sports betting odds but it doesn’t matter what you are betting on, the fact of the matter is that the house is going to be sure to come out on top. They don’t build those billion dollar casinos with winner’s money! The best odds are generally a little better and a sports bettor will likely see a return of eight to ten dollars for every hundred dollars he or she bets over a long term period.
best sports betting
In July 2006 they finally got what they were hoping for when legislation was passed with a vote of 317 to 93. By passing legislation, it appears imminent that the Wire Act of 1961 is going to be updated to more closely coincide with the internet world of today. Basically, the Wire Act states that it is a felony to transmit bets via wire communications. The next step in the process is for the bill to go in front of the Senate. If they agree with the first round of voting it is safe to say that things are going to change drastically.

The problem is, most people wouldn't know where to begin if they had to devise their own worthwhile Selection System, and those clever enough to be able to do so simply wouldn't have the time to do it (it is an arduous task). In fact, there are only two groups of people who do bother to spend the time and money to do so properly: (i) Bookies and (ii) sports tipsters. However, while you can be 100% sure that all Bookies operate a good Selection System (but they won't share it with you), you can be sure that 99% of so-called expert tipsters don't. The number of tipsters doing a proper job on the Internet can probably be counted on the fingers of just two hands.

Everything about horse betting

Successful horse race wagering takes a degree of skill and research. Unlike most sporting match ups where you have a fifty-fifty chance of winning by random choice, with an average field of 8 horses, the horse player only has a 12.5% chance of winning by chance. Let's put fun into the sport for the casual fan. A two horse match up takes wagering on horse racing back to its earliest and simplest form; "I bet my horse can beat yours!" But there's no need to stop there, horse racing offers a myriad of options for wagering; which horse will be in the lead at each point of call, which jockey or trainer will have the most wins for the day, and how about betting a horse to lose. These are just a few options that come to mind.
horse betting
The breeding, training and racing of horses in many countries is now a significant economic activity as, to a greater extent, is the gambling industry, which is largely supported by it. Exceptional horses can win millions of dollars and make millions more by providing stud services, such as horse breeding. Good quality race horses for example, is only available from few countries and few breeders this adds a great deal to the national income of the country involved.

Perhaps the most important factor is the distance of these races, the Derby is a mile and a quarter (10 furlongs), the Preakness, a mile and three sixteenths (9.5 furlongs) and the Belmont at a mile and a half (12 furlongs) is the longest of the three. The horses that survive their attempt at the Triple Crown will seldom, if ever, compete at these distances again. And yes, survival is a consideration. Many Triple Crown hopefuls are never able to compete again after the Belmont, even potential superstars such as Smarty Jones in 2004.

horses bet
Barbaro with Edgar Prado on board has won all 6 of his lifetime starts, 4 of his wins in 2006 and all at distances of a mile or more (his first 3 races were on the turf). Barbaro will be the odds on favorite for the Preakness. Gone are the double digit returns when we picked him for the Derby so most of us are left looking for horses to combine him with for the exacta, trifecta and superfecta wagers. Even though we want to see him win, at the probable scant return for a win, one must look to see if there's a horse in the field that can best him.

Let's start in the past and work forward - seems to be fairly logical. Starting just before the Matt Busby era at United my first selection is Jack Rowley. He joined United before Busby came along. Though not the whole story, naturally a striker is measured to some extent by his goal tally. Rowley managed to net 211 times in 424 games for United before leaving the club in 1955. His tally of 211 makes him one of only 3 players to break the 200 mark. manchester united manchester united With this as background, United is probably the more popular of the two Manchester football teams, wouldn’t you think? Such may not be the case as there has been a long-standing belief that Manchester City actually has more local fans than their more famous namesakes. A few years ago, a Manchester University research study discovered that Manchester United has 9,000 season ticket holders in the M postal area compared to Manchester City’s 7,000 season ticket holders. City fans quickly pointed out, though, that the research study was conducted before the City team moved to the larger City of Manchester stadium. As a result, no one is really sure which team is more popular among the locals. What is certain is that as far as nationwide and international support is concerned, United has a far larger fan base than City. michael carrick Manchester United Football Club is an English football club that plays in the Premier League. The Red Devils as they are commonly known have more than 300 million world-wide supporters. Meaning that out of every 20 people on earth, one of them will be a Manchester United Fan! Currently managed by Sir Alex Ferguson, Manchester United are one of the most successful teams in the history of English football having won 21 major titles since he became manager in 1986. During its remarkable history, many distinguished players have run out in the famous Manchester United shirt which can trace its origins back when Manchester United were known as Newton Heath Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Football Club.

The game began well for Real Madrid, with strong energy in the players. Kaka was the first to make an attempt, but the goal was denied by Lyon goalkeeper Hugo Lloris. Only five minutes later, Cristiano Ronaldo took a pass from Gutis to the left and made a left-footed shot that ended up in Lyon’s net, setting the score 1-0 in the game and 1-1 in the aggregate. real madrid official website This worked for Zaragoza, but they had to quit their offensive attack to take care of their defensive lines to prevent the Meringues’ attempts. This meant that Manuel Pellegrini’s team had more difficulties creating chances to score until minute 27, when it enjoyed a double opportunity with an accurate attempt from Raul Gonzalez, which hit the post, and then the subsequent shot from Ronaldo, which Czech Jiri Jarosik saved as the ball approached the net.

Ahead by one, Real Madrid controlled the ball on both ends of the field; Espanyol was left behind the ball without ideas. Even when the team managed to recover the ball, the players didn’t know what to do with it. Espanyol’s ineptitude helped Pellegrini’s men enjoy a wonderful half hour, during which they played how they wanted, when they wanted, and where they wanted. benzema Real Madrid also boasted a great game the next day against Villareal, winning 2-0. Villareal’s players and coach were not especially happy with decisions by the referee during the game, but the team stood together. They are still seeking their first victory of the season.

Another issue that you must stay on top of is price fluctuations from the bookmaker. The prices for placing bets do not just change with different bookies but even with the same. You cannot take it for granted that the prices that are quoted in print like the Racing Post will be valid at the time of the event. With sports betting things can change very rapidly so be sure that the price will be honored before placing your bet otherwise this can seriously affect the outcome of your arbitrage sports betting.
bet football | bet online sport betting
Still, there are tons of bettors looking through rose colored glasses for the holy grail of betting systems that will let them make money without risking any. Well, there is a way to do that and it is called work! Gambling is called gambling for a reason, it’s risky. Let’s take a look at some sports betting systems.
betting on sports
With this movement the United States has taken a different approach to online gambling. Whereas other countries are working with these services to regulate them, the United States is attempting to prohibit them once and for all. By doing this they are missing out on the ability to tax internet gambling instead of getting rid of it entirely. Conservative estimates have shown that taxing these services could make the government in upwards of $6 billion a year.

The most commonly occurring reason I have found for people consistently losing money at sports betting is that they have no "game plan". The most essential elements of a good game plan for betting purposes are a valid, proven Selection System and a proper Staking Plan. The Staking Plan alone won't cut it; first and foremost you must employ a worthwhile Selection System.
