This blog is likely to be a bit inactive over the coming weeks - I'm hoping to keep up with all your blogs and you may see me in your comments box, but I'm likely not be posting much myself.
I'm mostly at my Mum and Dads. Thanks for your get-well wishes for my mother.
No, she wont be ok, and she wont be getting better as she has recently-diagnosed and well-progressed cancer, stomach and liver. She might have months to live, but possibly only weeks.
This is entirely out of a clear blue sky for us - though she is 75, she has been fit, healthy (we thought), very active, not at all like a 75 year old, and of a very long-lived family. You realise how much you are taking for granted when its suddenly pulled from under your feet.
So, being with them is the compulsive priority at the moment. And I do realise how very fortunate I am to be so close to them, and to have this time.
Having said all that, my in-laws are here from next Weds., for a week, and I'll be home more. When they are here, we don't do much except sit around, drink tea, shop, look at purchases, drink tea (and wine - not so bad then).
Lots of opportunities for blogging then? (and shed erections) I hope so ...
missing you already.

lettuce,
i am up late tonight - restless, insommnia - crusing blogs. (2:20 AM San Francisco)
so i check into your blog. and start to think of me mom and what it means to have one,and what it means to watch one fade away and leave you behind - what it means to lose one, and become the next black dot on the now not-sofaraway- horizon - the one you see when you walk along the beach at sunset - just before the sun sinks into the dark waves.
oh, thank goodness no one who reads this knows who i really am. such a blatant sentimentalist.
thinking of you and your mom.
What a difficult thing to go through! You two will be in my thoughts in the coming weeks.
I hope you are ok. Spend as much time with her as you possibly can. Give us a ring or e-mail if you need anything at all.
Just treasure all of the time you've got now. I have learnt so much over the last few months...you've got to take your happiness and joy when you can. You have to connect, connect and connect with those you love.
Take care and lots of love to youxx
I am so glad that you are able to have this time with your Mum (and Dad), enjoy all the moments that you can.
Love to you, M & LG.
Sorry about your mam!
Hope all the family copes as best it can.

I'm so sorry to hear this sweetie. I hope you and your family can enjoy the time left you have with your mum. I can't begin to imagine what you must be going through right now but I send you my best and a huge hug, I just wish I had a magic formula to make it all easier for you somehow, Stay strong Lettuce XXXX
Sorry to hear about your mum. Make the very most of the time with her and your dad. Its so hard when someone is taken from under your feet to suddenly.
Hope to see you back soon. Have a good time with the inlaws (if that is possible).
Thinking of you!

xx
Oh ooops, I'm sorry, Letty.
I asked Ruth though and those little armadillo things are called wood lice. I know they're not the same as your beautiful big armadillos but they look very similar to me (in a smaller licier sort of way).
But yes, I'll gladly stamp on your ants for you.
Oh sweetheart, so sorry, I hope that you can enjoy each others company in the time you have. Its so important to make the most of every moment, so thinking of you and your Mum and Dad, take care.
I hope you are ok...missing youxxx
