I recently freecycled my old bike, for parts, as it was unfixable. I'll add a photo of my new bike later if I get the time. It is, of course, my favourite of all bikes and its been wonderful cycling to work this week in beautiful spring sunshine.
I'm hoping to get back into my usual cycle of posting and commenting, after a while of computer/internet "issues" and being away...

for a second there i thought i had stumbled upon cSI: bike edition...with all the bike homicides...lol. some neat pics...the izard dude is cool, even the homicide scenes...happy tt lettuce!
I'm in love with your photos. How strangely beautiful they are. I just followed you here from the Theme Thursday blog because of your blog name. It was lovely to meet you.
Lettuce, your photos are gorgeous! I love the colors and how you mixed them in this post. A wonderful approach on this theme! :) Very nice.
Happy TT! /Jo.
Fabulous post.....once again
Bicycle as art. Wonderful.
the abandoned ones are beautiful, though.
I have felt like some of those bicycles at various times...
My beloved bicycle is falling apart and I shall need to get a new one sometime. I love cycling but can't be fagged with all the maintenance work. Which is why my bike is falling apart!
The lizard/gecko/dinosaur dude is my favorite!
I really love how you make 'found' objects look so poetic. Not a bad bike in that first pic I bet it's owner misses it. I'd cycle to work if it wasn't for the traffic .. oh and that small matter of a humungous hill at the top of the street! Great shots as always.
That's an awful lot of abandoned bikes! I love the colorful lizard bike, though. Just don't let David Ickes see it. Heh, heh!
I love the gecko bike! I hope your holiday is wonderful. You deserve it...
Hoping to get back to your usual "cycle" of posting?? Did you do that on purpose?
Love the bicycle entwined with seaweed. That is crazy.
LOL to Brian's comments...yes, CSI.
That first one looks like it's been out to see...wonder how far out the cyclist got before jumping ship...err...a...bike? ha.
Oops.
i've a kid who knows how to destroy bikes...weird; needless to say i won't let him anywhere near mine. 'm about ready to start riding to work again...morning temps are climbing. happy TT
Nice work! There's something perversely beautiful about a destroyed bicycle. I have a doomed pair on my Theme Thursday this week.
hi lettuce love the abandoned bicycle pics.. hope you have a lovely weekend, Beltane Blessings to you xx
Sadly I think a lot of bikes are abandoned before their time is up.
What a very intriguing bike that chameleon rides.wonder if he knows the gecko from that insurance company.
I likes your bikes. Great photos. Very interesting blog. I signed up to follow cuz I love lettuce...especially spinach...which might be a good name for a blog. Stop by my place and return the favor if you like what you see. Sorry I'm all out of greens but I'll be back again soon. http://www.boomerpie.com/
