simple sepia things

Simple things - Enchanted Oak is giving money for Haiti in response to posts and links about Simple Things today. The simple pleasures of life...

And not only are family photos simple things in themselves, to be cherished - but these photos below are about simple pleasures of life - dozing in a deck chair on a sunny afternoon, a day out on the heath...

As my sepia saturdays have been about my mum's family for the last few weeks, I'm sticking with that for the time being and so here are some more of my lovely nan and grandad.

More Sepia Saturday posts will be linked from here

Sepia photos always seem to have more character and detail somehow don't you think?

Ah, is that top one not the most blissful shot? The companionship coupled with the warmth of the sun and a bit of a doze--lovely!

Thank you for participating in the Simple Things that bring joy in life. I went to your Limp Lettuce blog first and loved your Lemon Meringue Pie poem--left you a comment. Just wanted you to know. I'm a blog friend of Poetikat's too. It's a strangely linked world, isn't it? Thanks for spending my money on Haiti!

It's obvious that they were very much in love and very comfortable with each other! Lovely!

What great photos of who appear to be very nice people. They are a perfect set of photos of relaxation.

Don't you love how people 'dressed up' for a picnic right down to the suit and often a tie . .stockings and heels. And why the old fashioned deck chair isn't more popular I'll never know, they're very comfy.

I loved the one of them sleeping.

Oh these are gorgeous. There's something so evocative about sepia shots displaying simple pleasures. Bygone era and less complicated lives...?

These are so reminiscent of warmth, coziness and companionship...Were they as lovely to be with as they appear here? If so, you were very fortunate.

It's interesting to see just how pervasive digital memory has become in our every day lives. It seems like everytime I turn my head, I see something with a card slot or USB jack, lol. I guess it makes sense though, considering how cheap memory has become lately...

Gahhhhh... who am I to complain. I can't get through a day without using my R4 / R4i!

Just lovely Letty. Especially the top photo. They look so carefree and comfortable with each other. What's better than taking a nap in the sun?

Wonderful.
