In the first photograph Elizabeth looks very determined, as though she has a Specific Destination in mind (and possibly not with happy circumstances afteward).
The beach photos of the time period always amaze with people fully clothed, sitting in the son. These are wonderful photos.
What a hat she has upon her head and what a stride in the first photo (your grt. grndmther) and the 2nd posing at the beach. I just imagine how they might have thought they were relaxing! Wonder who snapped the photos!!
I have just realized what a treasure your Blog will be to generations to come since you have pulled together bits and pieces from your family history so nicely. It's a real treasure trove of photos!
What outfits to wear to the beach. They look grand. It actually dates them as the daughter looks like two generations away instead of one. They are such wonderful pictures.
I have a VERY similar one of my Grandparents on the Kent strand somewhere circa 1922 - right down to the handwritten number on the front. Maybe I'll run it next week.
