graffiti in Williamsburg, NYC
I keep having to remind myself of the need to just breathe.
And just look
and feel
and appreciate
most of the things which need doing will be done
most of them in time
and some of them really don't matter that much after all
and changes at work which have been worrying me will be resolved
one way
or another
and it will be okay
one way
or another
And in the meantime, there is so much in life to enjoy and appreciate
if i can just remember to breathe
and look
and feel
and appreciate.
Looking for all the world as if it was breathing on Friday night, here is one of the Trafalgar Square lions:
and here is a glimpse of some of the other Trafalgar Square life:

Sometimes life gets too hectic and we need to sit down and remind ourselves we only have so much control don't we Lettie?

ahhhhhh
wishes for all the wonderous deep breathing looking feeling and appreciating.....
What were you doing in Trafalgar square on Friday night then Lettie????
Eh???
love you
Breathing is always good. It's the one thing that we all have in common!
As I always tell myself "One heartbeat at a time!"
Take good care of yourself S. :-)
xo, r
What a great looking area ; )
I can't imagine not breathing, at least now anyway......
Thank you...I totally needed that reminder...& those lions are so amazing.
Yes, sometimes we've just got to unstuff ourselves and take in a good long cold cleansing breath.
Lettuce,
I haven't watched one of those YouTube things before: I am SO aware now that you are technologically ahead of me, since I am still using still pics and pen and ink. Ugh.
I like the graffiti with the iron guardians, wish I had a talking lion...Oh wait, I did when I was little.
Ah, that post was a breath of fresh air!
The lion looks (and sounds) so friendly! Trafalgar Square looks awesome by night.
I know I have to tell myself: one step at a time.
xx
Good advice. I am getting very worked up lately because I have two papers to write (am in the process of writing) and they are really tugging at me as I try to balance the other aspects of my life, including the added responsibilities and joys of the holidays.
And I try to remember that, as you say, things that need to get done will get done (on time?).
Happy Holidays!!
Can you believe that it's about 20 years since I was in Trafalgar Square? I was in London this summer, but I was exploring the South Embankment, didn't go to Traf Sq. Now I wish I had, just to see the talking lion.
absolutely true lamalu (hee hee that rhymes)
thanks kim.
well mrs. nosey RW. I met a blogger friend and went to photob. exhibit. at the Nat. Portrait Gallery and then met M & S and had a good pub meal and went to a gig.... okay with you?

Tut-tut, unstuffing sounds good. the cold winter air helps.
sally, i've been meaning to buy more ink for my fountain pen... LOVE my computer, but wouldn't want to give up on pen and paper
ArtsParker, when little, i used to worry about Born Free lions - not the friendly ones
:-) D-D
lynne, i do love london.
gary, good luck with that. i have to start grading essays next...
Very Happy Holidays to you too!!
Shammie, I'd mostly choose the South Bank over Trafalgar square. and the lion wasn't talking in the summer, i think it was sleeping then
Yes, breathe, be in the moment - I have to keep reminding myself to do the same.
One way or another, yes, I hope so too.
Wow! What a lot of people!
The talking lion is ... strange, don't you think? Well mannered, though.
Yes, breathe. Yes.
xxoo
I think the lion should tell fortunes.
reya thats a great idea, it so should!!
Ahhh - you've taken me back to the times when I'd catch the Late Night bus home in the early hours of the morning, after a night of clubbing - good memories!
~(:o})=
Beautiful post! That Williamsburg graffiti is some of my favorite graffiti in NYC -- I just walked past it Sunday, and it's still there. :)
