Winter Wonderland 4

Even the depths of murky south east London are transformed by just an inch or two of snow.

I know those of you who live with, struggle, shovel and shiver through it every day in winter had probably seen enough snow by November, but for us - its a fairly rare occurrence and we love it. Even LG was awake instantly and cheerfully this morning.

No doubt all the transport systems in South East England will be gasping and failing again today, already battered by last weeks gales. And some people will be miserable and moany.

But snow in London can also miraculously effect that war-time bonhomie of adversity, together with the scarcely concealed glee, for some of us, of inner children itching to throw snowballs.

It only lasted half a day and there really wasn't very much of it (though we are promised more) (a threat to some, a promise to me) but I did pop and manage to get just a few pictures.

Snow is fab isn't it! We've still got ours from last week, it's all crispy and sparkly!

Gorgeous. I do miss having snow. We never get it here :-(

The nice thing about your sort of snow is that it is wet and heavy, and settles on things. Very story-bookish.
And it doesn't become a drudgery, since you can love it, (as even we Canadians do- the first snowfall of the season is always exciting!)
then, you know it will melt before it will clog your doorways, stump your cars, and cause your heating bill to sky rocket.
Oh, and really, really lovely photos.

It looks very pretty. Ours is still here but there isn't too much of it. The boys are outdoors right now as it's getting dark, playing in the snow - even though they have flu. Bad Mom, I know. We have huge snowballs in the freezer too. Sigh.

I love the frosty bicycle! Snow is pure magic until it begins to melt. Slush is the fallen side of snow, don't you think?

I can see your header. But I can't see Luce's blog..haven't been able to all week. Just a big blank screen - although her meme post did come through on bloglines...weird!
