.....I think the time has come to acknowledge that I'm not actually blogging any more.....
PLUS
I'm off on Sunday for a Big Adventure Down Under, with Little Gem.
SO
I've popped in to say bye bye.
I shan't be back till the middle of August.
.....I don't know if I'll be returning to blogging.....
.....though having fully intended to come and post a VACANT notice here,
I find myself wanting to start blogging again.....
which is
TYPICAL
So: this blog is CLOSED for the time being.
(But it might only be temporary)
Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

television
Not something I photograph much
but here, experimenting with the hippstamatic app. (which I love)

(no idea what we were watching......)
and on holiday with friends.....

(and we can see what/why Rosie is watching!)

spice
is amongst the reasons why the state of Kerala, in India, claims the slogan: "God's own country".

The state is full of spices, everywhere - growing, being sold, being cooked and eaten.

Amongst the spices I saw growing there were chilli

coriander, curry, cardamom,
nutmeg

cinnamon

turmeric, vanilla, rue, allspice, clove,
ginger and pepper

star anise

Spice is a major part of the culture, as well as the economy - whole shops devoted just to spices

and they were a feast for the palate as well as for the eyes

Other posts about spice are over at Theme Thursday

paper

An installation art piece by Lu Shengzhong, an artist from Beijing, using hand-cut paper figures carefully arranged in vistas and landscapes, swathes, crowds - assembled as screens or walls, with blocks of the negative cut-outs.

"I use paper to cut this little red figure to demonstrate he delicate fragility of human beings. Ephemeral. A human's life is shorter than a paper's thickness. The material is not important. What is more important is the process you use to create that material. This is more valuable to me." Lu Shengzhong.
The piece below is entitled The Book of Humanity.

from an exhibition at the V&A in London in 2008.
