Various birds and animals live in the park around the corner
where I've been experimenting with my new rathermorecomplicated camera.
Some of these feathery furry features are very evocative of aspects and elements of my Christmas.
anticipation
decoration
eating
drinking
i'm sure theres just a bit of something down here....
red eyes
catering for large numbers
sharing
dizzy heads
just checking ....
family gatherings
communal crashing out
communal silliness
keeping extremities warm
at times a bit like this
and also, at times, a bit like this.
see, who needs words?

ReplyDeleteFor yearsI have been using a camera similar to one Fred Flintstone used but I dropped it and now it is temperamental as well as clunky.It might be the first digital camera ever made-- I hope to get a new one soon,

i heard a thing about turkies on radio 4 it was amazing... forget "gobbling" they sounded like a shed full of schoolgirls laughing and producing lazer-gun sound effects they were incredible...

they do seem mostly contented Ched. Also quite rowdy. Yes treat yourself - digital camera technology rocks. and is not necessarily all that expensive.
Oh no steve, don't dread it. I know i just need to take my time to get to know it a bit at a time, and I always have my old camera with me too just for emergencies. Its fun tho.... not to be dreaded.

it was M's selection for me (a surprise) and I'm pretty pleased with it so far, its a Fuji Finepix S8000 - not too bulky or heavy despite the extra bells and whistles - def. more manageable and portable than an SLR would be (and less expensive), but it does quite a bit more than my old trusty compact (which was also excellent and I will go on using, which is a Canon Ixus65). So there, now you know.

hahaha gled i love your description of the gaggle of turkeys. Gaggle is also i believe the collective term for teenage girls. (either "gaggle", or "hormone"). i will check out your turkies ( :-p) and i DO LOVE YOUR STARS!
