palm

These first photos are from Perpignan, which is a very palmy place.

Way down in the South of France, and within easy reach of
Spain

The next two are from Glasgow, Scotland

where they are protected by these wonderful Victorian greenhouses.

My local downbeat urban rundown downtown Woolwich actually has some palm trees, and I thought I had some photos I could post. But no, I must have imagined taking photos of them.

They are unexpected and look somewhat out of place in the high street by the red London buses.

Maybe I imagined them.

Here is a local and more indigenous palm:

The first pic grabbed me, I looked at it for a long time. The others were great as well but something about that first one captivated me.

Thanks for that one!

You palm photos make me realize I have never taken a palm photo. And come to think of it, I don't think there are any palms around? I will look for them, and as soon as I find one, I will photograph it. I am palm green with envy. For most of my life, palms were in the picture. I miss them. Thanks for your post.

Frondulicious . . . love the Victorian Greenhouses, so nostalgic. I bet they contain half the plants we grow here.

The 'victorian greenhouse' is Kibble Palace in the Botanic Gardens which you may be surprised to know is the setting for a Knit Pic tomorrow which sadly I cannot attend bit my friends are going to. A Picnic where you sit and knit and talk and eat and make friends.
