stuff

I just carried all this shopping home on the bus. Plus my swimming stuff.

Which was a bit silly as we now (after 25 years.....) have a car to carry heavy shopping. Albeit only an old mini which has not too much room, even if you take out the spare tyre.

(I make no comment on the silliness or otherwise of taking photos of my shopping. Blogger has a lot to answer for).

And some of the tension which swimming had dissolved away out of my shoulders returned as I walked from the bus stop to our house.

But I'm a sucker for all the cheap fruit and veg in the market (3 melons for £1! 2 pineapples for £1!! 8 avocados for £1!!! lots of other heavy stuff for £1!!!!) and I couldn't resist the sunflowers even though they were nearly the last straw.

On the upside, we will be eating healthily and drinking delicious and nutritious fruit smoothies over the next few days. And the sunflowers make me smile.

Hi, Lettuce,
It does all look mega nutritious in a vitamin-rich way.*

Nearly bought a potted sunflower (sunflowers do make one smile) in a recent shopping sortie - but knew it wouldn't bed down happily in my yard so didn't. I enjoyed the bloke next to me buying his. :))

*women have *always* carried the heavy shopping home - almost like it's our destiny. Personally, I am enjoying the beautiful irony of having the Tesco babes carrying mine home instead.

My fridge is empty (cos I'm having a new kitchen put in) so all that food is making me envious!

Beautiful groceries - I don't think I could beat those prices (and I'm in the place they grow avocados).

I wish my groceries looked that good! Mine are mostly cans and boxes. The produce at my local grocery is seriously lacking!

Wow! Avocados in California (at least where I live) are often between $1 and nearly $1.75.

Fruitful!

A favourite breakfast for me is marmite and avocado on toast. Go on, try it:)

I love sunflowers. I'm so glad you found room for them in your bag. Swimming is the best way to shed the stresses of life, yes?

ooh, haven't been over here for a while - have caught up with the last blog about Suffolk. There was an article in the paper the other day about that house that you've pictured. It's an old farm that was flooded in the 1960's and hasn't been inhabited since - would love to see a picture of how it looked back then! They didn't show any old pics sadly. There's no chance of it being done up as it's still liable to flood there - as you can see - it's on a flood plain! Doh! Whoever thought to build a house there -haven't they seen the houses in Spirited away - they are all under water? Or is it the other film - always get those two mixed up.

Ciao for now! PS: Love the fruit - are the anchovies going in the smoothies? Did you watch that Supersizers programme with Giles Coren and Sue thingy? They were Romans and one thing the Romans did for us was invent fish sauce/anchovy sauce which they even put in sweet dishes - stewed apples with anchovy - yum!

"Blogger has a lot to answer for..." lol. I know this will happen to me when I finally have working camera again. But I enjoy the photo. And as for swimming & taking the bus...& picking up above, same here. But no car. So, oh well. Which reminds me, time to go catch the bus:)

Lovely photo, really. Sunflowers are on my list for the farmer's market this Saturday.

Nah that's shopping worthy of a photograph. A new meme is born methinks! Gorgeous produce. We have a local farmer's market each month and my shopping from that day is so much more satisfying than the usual grocery shop. There's something about fresh eggs still with a little poo on them and beautiful flowers. Oh . .you're paying way too much for your avocados and pineapples *gloat*
