miscellaneous

First:
today's Theme for Thursday is "vacation", so here are a few pics. of a favourite and frequent vacation destination - Jersey, Channel Islands.

We'll be heading there again this August and I really cannot WAIT to be there, switch off and kick back, walk on the beach, go to car boot sales, listen to the sea....

Second:
I seem to be regularly apologising here for my unreliable and erratic blogging this year. So this is NOT an apology, because I do know that I don't really need to apologise.

A Big Change is coming (soon!) in my life in relation to work, ie. employment and income - my head and heart are shifting gears and I am in the process of taking control and preparing to step out of a situation of unacceptable stress, mismanagement, pressure and deteriorating work conditions.  Life is too short and the cost is too high to stay where I am.

Change is good and I'm (more often than not) looking forward to it.

Deep breath.

Third:
as well as sorting out and working through the variables of the Big Change, I have also been busy, between times, with a charity project.

This is a preview - I will be posting a full-colour double page spread about this at some point. Soon. And I will be asking if you can help us to advertise on your blogs and elsewhere.

But if you want to take a look now, you'll find information about this new venture here.

We are welcoming any feedback, suggestions etcetc....

The venture looks interesting and I hope all works well with your change.

Seems like a lot of us are doing the same, thanks to the economy.

Wow, so much excitement! I'm glad you're making a change. Life is too short to be unhappy and stressed.

The charity project looks interesting, though I'm afraid to look at the site because I might start buying stuff! LOL!

Jersey is somewhere I've always wanted to go but never quite made it. Your photos make me want to see it even more now.

Quite often a change is exactly what one needs, I hope yours is. :)

I just love that second photo! I had to study it to be sure of what I was seeing. At first my eyes saw square shaped clouds reflected in water... very cool image!

Looks a bit different than "my" Jersey!

Glad things are looking up with the job situation.

The charity project looks great! What a wonderful idea! And you are so talented that I'm certain you'll come up with wonderful handmade goodies to sell.
Keep us posted!

Wow. That was exactly how I felt 15 months ago. I HATED my Crappy Day Job -- every day I walked into that place I said "This is NOT what I want to do when I grow up!" -- and threw away financial security (so-called) to become a full-time writer. Everybody said, "In this economy? You're NUTS!"

And I'll be honest. It's been a struggle, and has caused all sorts of NEW stress, but it's all mine.

Even at my most miserable I'd do it again, in a heartbeat!

Hope your upcoming change works out for you.

What lovely photo's, I especially like the 2nd and 3rd.

Just had a look at made4aid website, the banner looks great! thanks for using Toby's jewellery and adding the credit link, I will show him later. It will also remind him that he was going to send somthing for auction, I think he had forgotten!

Good luck with the changes you are making.

I know a gal from Jersey. She's one of the most relaxed women I know, even though she lives in Orange County now!

I will investigate the linkage...

wow, seems like this is an exciting, positive time of change for you and I am thrilled. Moving away from the bad and into the good in any situation is cause for celebration. Sometimes it is hard to make the move but congratulations on doing just that.

I'm glad you are seriously planning to make changes. Life is far too short to be lived under unwanted pressure. I think pressure is necessary but it should be on your own terms. Good luck with your new direction, I admire you for making the decision to make changes. It's far too easy to just carry on and keep on complaining. So much harder to actually take the initiative and do something about it.
Jersy... never been there and probably never will, but it looks wonderful, calm, peaceful, everything a special heart place should be.

oooops I obviously can't spell Jersey!
