blog break lapse mute maybe...

Snowman corpses in Greenwich Park last month, looking up from the Maritime Museum up to the Royal Observatory.

Well.

I've been musing about whether or not to continue blogging having felt.... distanced... distracted.... muse-less... and largely wordless as well.

Each time I begin mentally to write a post saying something to that effect, I find myself becoming verbosely wordy. In my head.

Hah.

"know thyself"

And just look at this ridiculous blog title which is just as it fell out of my head.
Once I sit and begin to type, the words are clamouring in my head to get out here. But I'm not at all convinced they are words worth putting on a page.

Well, I really don't want to witter on here with too many words.
But I don't want to stop blogging by default rather than by decision.

And I'm not sure I really want to stop blogging anyway.

So.... what then?

Well, firstly, I do apologise that I'm not getting around to your blogs very much at the moment. And when I do sometimes visit, I am wordless and not commenting...

And secondly, I plan to post much more frequently, but primarily picture posts.

Unless I find myself thinking of words.
Words which aren't woeful... or witless...
... or too wordy.

Hows that for a plan?

Having just been through the whole "should I, shouldn't I" thing myself, let me just say that weighing all the possibilities is something of a process! What you feel now may not be what you feel three months from now, or even next week. So I say take it day to day, and see what you feel like posting. Pictures are always good! We love your pictures! :)

I felt overwhelmed when I came back from Spain last week at the number of unread posts on my reader and I seriously contemplated not blogging anymore. :(

Then I started reading only the latest posts on my reader and commenting and before I knew it I was posting on my blog. :)

If you don't feel like blogging then don't, just wait until you do. I do hope you don't stop altogether m'dear, I'd miss you.

Why not give your blog a facelift - maybe change the name or the template? I changed my template at Christmastime and it cheered me up no end!

We all face this dilemma all the time. Blogging can't turn into an obligation -- to write or to read -- or it's no longer fun. People understand when you don't comment for a while. If they are regular readers, they won't forget you! And you should only write when you feel like it. Photos are great. They speak volumes, especially yours!

I for one would miss you, I don't always comment but I do read your blog and visit often. Just follow your heart and if you have something to say all the better. I love your photos too.

I think we all have the same thoughts at one time or another. I don't seem to have any words lately either; most photos. So, there you have it. Post what you want, when you want and I'll always be here to read even if I don't have anything much to say.

Love that photo!

We've had another big snow here. Spring seems along way away right now.

Maybe it's just winter malaise?

Very happy to have just the photos.
Or just the words.
Or both.
Whenever you feel like putting finger to keyboard :)

to blog or not to blog that is the question....

i would like to weigh in and say please don't close down shop, i would be too sad if the lettuce wilted and blew away.

i agree with betty....a picture is fine. a word is fine. many words are fine. many pictures are fine. anything you do is fine

just have fun ....steve has some good insights

oh I did the band thing...but since I don't have photoshop I couldn't put my album together it was funny, I posted the result in a comment on coffee's blog.

Dear Lettuce,

Perhaps you need a blogging break to re-charge. I wish you the best and hope that you won't go away entirely. Your photos are eye candy!

Letty, do what you will when you want, we will be here when you are and wait when you're not - Don't feel overwhelmed or obliged, and it probably isn't possible to get around everyone's blog every day, so don't be overly concerned with that...

Blogging should always be a pleasure and not a chore, and you should always follow your heart and your mind - Pictures are good, so are Memes sometimes when you are stuck and there are lots and lots and lots of them out there.

All the best of luck for you in your deliberations, Fhi x

I know that feeling...The blogospshere is family and not. And we live in rather overwhelming times, I have found recently that quite small things can make me feel that there are too many demands.

Words are very moody little creatures. Often they resist being born but are generally pretty happy about it when they're finally free. The muse may nap, but she never dies.

I live for your photos, and your little words

(although you sometimes use big words that i have to look up in the dictionary)

I agree with all the above.
Take a break.
Have a rest.
Relaxez-vous.
But don't leave altogether.

Letty, It sounds like a plan. Your words are lovely but your pictures are lovely too. Post when, how, and what you feel when you feel. I'll be here to read/view. xoxo
