silliness

I had a wonderful weekend away, a week ago, in Suffolk which is in the middle of the big bulgy nose-like bit on the East coast of England.

Lucy and I took long walks with ziggy the dog - mostly country walks, with lots of stops for photographs (Luce was very patient with me), and pauses to watch the skylarks and listen to the birdsong

and pauses for other dog-silliness.

On the Sunday we took a long long walk - through and around Ipswich itself, through modern and old, derelict and developed, around the marina and along the docks; we found a vast and lovely park and walked through a rather beautiful cemetary just as the shadows were at their longest.

We walked for about four and a half hours. We were ready for a large G & T.
We thought the dog might be just a little tired...

sorry this vid is a bit dark, but i hope you get the idea...

What a grand and glorious dog! I was laughing at the bounding through the field and...named Lucy? Really?how could any Lucy-being ever be silly?

Can you tell I'm thinking of you?

And isn't it a pleasure to ramble along with someone, who enjoys stopping whenever you wish to stop and take a photo?

Nice to see an unleashed dog enjoying life!

Isn't it fun to be able to take those little movies and post them!! What a great dog that is, so bouncy and free. Who was that mysterious figure up the road, who seemed to melt away into the hedgerow??

Glad you got out and about. I think L and might make a break for it this summer to Oxford, MS, and Square Books . . .

oes ziggy ever run out of energy? Oh my! I love to see her taking those huge leaps like she has springs on her feet.

And, oh, lovely birdsong in the first vid.

Glad you had a lovely time in the country. We too are enjoying our time on the fringes of civilization.

xx

That mad dog would be quite lazy over here - it's simply too hot to move. Today has been spent slumped in an armchair, with the windows open but the shutters drawn together to keep the sun out, TV on, reading, eating cold grub and quaffing chilled Rose. It's horribly hot I am all sweaty and sticky. But the the sun should set soon and it will become cooler and more bearable for a few hours.

It looks as if the dog was keeping time with the music in the last video. I had a chuckle watching him hopping through the tall grass looking like a giant rabbit. Sounds as if you had a good trip.

Haven't I seen this puppy prancing through the fields before? Always good for a chuckle.
