SMILE

dragging heavy suitcases up the hill from the station with a grumpy tired 13 year-old my mind was way ahead of us and thinking about what to post here ...

but rather than thinking about the good holiday i've just had, i found myself thinking of all the work i have to trudge through this week.....

So I apologise to you, gentle blog folk, for very nearly posting something a bit moany and miserable. I'm ashamed of myself and have given myself a good talking to. How many times will i need to learn and relearn that whole living in the moment and being grateful and gracious and appreciating good things lesson?

It was a relaxing holiday which included baby-nuzzling, dog-wrangling, teenager-baiting, good eats, beach-combing, boot fairs and actually a surprising amount of sunshine between the rain and clouds and hail.

I am being proactive about the work anxiety and will go for an early swim tomorrow morning before I get started.

Furthermore, this SMILE will be my mottosloganimagefocus of the week.

That is one great image; you'd best copyright/co-opt it right away!

I'm glad you're break was a good one. I wish I had a pool nearby for a swim. I think that plunge is very purging.

Welcome back. Permission granted for one good, highly focussed moaning/kvetching/griping session when required. To be applied locally, ad libitum, at user's discretion. Followed by several laps in the pool to clear residues.
I agree with tut-tut - the yellow fellow has potential as the New, Improved Smilie.

Yay - you're back!

Anyone with that smile called 'diskopar' is alright by me.

Interesting image. If you look at it one way Mr Yellow is smiling; or he could be sticking his tongue out at you while clamping his hands to his ears....

I'm amazed that you looked at that pair of binoculars and saw a smiley face. Quite an eye! Thanks for sharing it with us!

(I get kvetchy in my blog posts too...funny how the complainer in us comes out when we write...)

Brilliant image, Lettuce. Glad you're back and had a good break, even if it means a pile of work to wade through. Up and down, high and low, balance, balance, balance :-)

Nice one! It's good to come back from a holiday all refreshed and full of good vibes, but it's also good to come back and have a bloody good moan. Get it off your chest.

Welcome back Lettie! Great pic! Now I need a vacation!

Things can't be too bad if you are noticing smiles in inanimate objects. This was probably just a transition time from vacation mode to get back to work mode. The holiday seems like it was fantastic but I want to hear more about the boot fair. They sold buttons? I'm confused.

hope reenty is smoother than feared and before you know it you'll be off on another wander!

hi phd girl
and sally (and i nearly did this as a wordless post.... couldn't stop myself!)

feeling uffish shelly, thats for sure.

thanks bella

ooo yes gary, buttons, one of my not-so-secret passions. Almost anything might be found at a car boot fair (like a yard sale?) - this woman said they were her mother-in-laws, a whole old biscuit box full... (even some boot buttons in there!)

kimy theres nothing like baby-nuzzling, is there?

Gary said...

Oh, I get it now. Thanks for explaining about the car boot (that is what we call a trunk, right?). Boy, I am so literal sometimes.
