communing with animals

Various birds and animals live in the park around the corner

where I've been experimenting with my new rathermorecomplicated camera.

Some of these feathery furry features are very evocative of aspects and elements of my Christmas.

anticipation

decoration

eating

drinking

i'm sure theres just a bit of something down here....

red eyes

catering for large numbers

sharing

dizzy heads

just checking ....

family gatherings

communal crashing out

communal silliness

keeping extremities warm

at times a bit like this

and also, at times, a bit like this.

see, who needs words?

these are great shots--nice to have a park like this around the corner.

Great shots, you are doing much better with your new toy than I am with mine...

I'd like to live near a petting zoo... nice shots--everyone looks contented

For yearsI have been using a camera similar to one Fred Flintstone used but I dropped it and now it is temperamental as well as clunky. It might be the first digital camera ever made-- I hope to get a new one soon,

Wow, horses and pigs?? That's quite a park! (LOVE the wood ducks -- so beautiful.)

I think it may be time for me to get a rathermorecomplicated camera too...but I'm dreading the process.

You got some great shots there Lettie! If a camera needs more than point and press I'm snookered!

(Actually I have 'Steve' the tumble dryer and 'Martin' the washing machine too... thinking about it!)

Great pics and great park! :O)
(It used to be my local when Sid as a baby!)

The pics are spectacular! Tell us about your new camera? I'm about to take the plunge - I'm ready for a rathermorecomplicated way of capturing images. Are you happy with your selection.

I love the communal lounging pics. Awww ... they're all so sweet.

the topmost duck (most colourful one) is amazing!

those turkies = cute.

i heard a thing about turkies on radio 4 it was amazing... forget "gobbling" they sounded like a shed full of schoolgirls laughing and producing lazer-gun sound effects they were incredible...

i posted up some stuff about turkies on my pets blog

http://gledwoodpets.blogspot.com

that was the best I could find but if you know anything better I'd be delighted to find out!

All the best!

the new camera does appear to be quite fabulous! seems as if you've captured these animals quite unaware. lots of cuties in the lot.

It's amazing how new cameras can bring out the "inspirational" out in a person. Great animal shots Lettuce! :-)

ummmmmmmmmm ahhhhhhhhh actually you have a point Lee. Esp. as I did in fact post pictures WITH words, not without....

oooh RW you are bold. They remember you too, they told me so.

thanks z :o) and sue.

and v. glad to make you laugh lynne. Silliness is very important.

its looking good so far Tut Tut, the zoom is a lot of fun. lots of failures but also fun is what i'm having.

well thanks Bob and hello! yes it is, it feels quite rural just around the corner there.

ooo pg you have a new one too? i must pop over and see what you are doing with it.

they do seem mostly contented Ched. Also quite rowdy. Yes treat yourself - digital camera technology rocks. and is not necessarily all that expensive.

Oh no steve, don't dread it. I know i just need to take my time to get to know it a bit at a time, and I always have my old camera with me too just for emergencies. Its fun tho.... not to be dreaded.

thanks lama. And martin.
And.... Brazil? not sure i understand your banter

Trac i bet i know which comment person you mean. :o)
(the ducks remember you too)
(not the sheep. but then i don't think they pay attention much)

well shame on you Dumdad. London has LOTS and lots of green.

ta shammie.
And Reya.
and another new camera on the way?
exciting!!!
it was M's selection for me (a surprise) and I'm pretty pleased with it so far, its a Fuji Finepix S8000 - not too bulky or heavy despite the extra bells and whistles - def. more manageable and portable than an SLR would be (and less expensive), but it does quite a bit more than my old trusty compact (which was also excellent and I will go on using, which is a Canon Ixus65). So there, now you know.

hello dizzy, lovely to see your lovely face here again. I hope you had a good Christmas too. we hope to be over Easter-ish.

hahaha gled i love your description of the gaggle of turkeys. Gaggle is also i believe the collective term for teenage girls. (either "gaggle", or "hormone"). i will check out your turkies ( :-p) and i DO LOVE YOUR STARS!

oh yes Betty i should think so.

baaaaaaaaa? eeeeek eeeeeeek eeeeeek

well thanks dave. My "old" camera was new nearly 2 years ago, and definately got me going.
