Perpignan - shadows

Its not just the shapes of the shadows which are different in different countries - its also the quality of the light. The shadows in Perpignan had me looking down but also looking up...

wonderful pictures! ah, blessed armchair travel! your pictures of perpignan take me back to the week I spent in provence in '05 -visually, one of the best weeks I've EVER experienced (thank god for digital cameras or I'd be in the poorhouse!) the color, light, and architecture ...what a magical land! thank you for giving me a little cyberholiday! keep them coming! you have a wonderful eye - I expect you know that!! ;) thanks for dropping by the mouse, should you ever find a copy of the 'church mice take a break' let me know so I encourage you to break copywrite laws and make a copy of the story for me! (I will say it was all my fault) curious minds need to know what sampson and the mice have gotten themselves into!

Yes - the light and colour. Even within the same country. I always think Provence/Côte d'Azur side is very different to the Perps side and both just as beautiful in their own way.
(and only a few hours away from each other)

But...

"Cross-borough research"
and
"Pink bins in relation to pubs"

hahaha

We even have our our own light and colours here eh?!
Sounds like a fine autumn project to me!

Even shadows are classy in France. Wow.

Well. I guess the photographer has something to do with the sublime beauty of these pics, eh??

Gorgeous!

Shadows and light. I was just watching an old 40s movie and they really made wonderful use of both. A perfect way to evoke a mood. I wonder what these photos would look like in black and white.

My favorite is the is the last one — very unique! Great job!

Yes, the last one is super, but I also like the spikyness of the first one.

Everyone likes to think they can take good photos - after all, you just point the thing and click. Not so. In my case, I take about four shots hoping one might be useable; not great just useable! You have talent.
Have a great holiday.

thanks everyone so much, glad you like them. i've not had the photography bug for long, but i'm loving it.

i'm not responding to you each individually..... cos ... i feel a bit coy you're so complimentary....

(will try them in b&w tho, good idea)

Did you take all of these photos Lettuce? These are beautifully creative. I love how you find beauty where others don't.

After I typed "lettuce", I started getting hungry. Better run and make myself a sandwich. With lettuce. :)
