Vanilla Beer

Look what I got in the post this morning.

My mum recently gave me some money... and I'd been looking wistfully at the fabulous french food paintings by Vanilla Beer .... who we happened to meet up with again last week at the opening of a show she has in London ... so here is the outcome of all that synchronicity.

Vanilla is an ex-student of mine, an artist now living (mostly) in the south of France. There is a link to her on my side-bar. She is wonderful, so fun and interesting and creative - do have a look at some of her work.

The title on the painting is: "Joie au coeur fait beau teint" : A happy heart makes a beautiful complexion.

This will give new heart and life to our dining room.

How lovely, and I think art is even nicer if you know the artist. A good investment I think Lettuce :-)

Yes, that is very true. It is much nicer when you know the person who has created it. But it is a lovely anyway. Although it makes me feel a little hungry!!

I think the name Vanilla Beer sounds like something The Greenwich Mean Time Brewery should be making soon....

I like her painting a lot though. Does she live in the sarf of france ? I thought she lived in the Dordogne? Or am I getting confused with J Zoob?

not the Dordogne. Languedoc. Don't be confused with J. Zoob! hahaha

It is lovely and yes it makes it all the better when you know who painted it! I have a lot of my late FIL paintings - I LOVED my FIL, he was a very special person and even if his paintings were rubbish, which they are not, I'd still love them!

Quite fond of The Greenwich Mean Time Brewery too!

That was a bit of a hint btw... :O)

lettucue-heart - yes, the best bit!

Look on Vanilla's site, summer fruit - theres another fabulous painting of, in fact, a lettuce heart - On vit d'espoir.

and Joyce - hahaha! took me quite a few minutes to work out what you meant. Yes, I'm a bit slow today....
